I have divided up my concept design work into four areas:
Created for the upcoming "Star Trek: Nemesis" film as part of a proposal by Rhythm + Hues, these spacecraft had to work within the visual style which has been firmly established by the previous movies and television series. Sadly the contract was awarded to another visual effects house. The StarQuest shuttle appeared in the Samsung Pavilion motion base ride at Expo '93. The aft section was fabricated full size as a scenic set piece (see the art direction area for more images).
"The Blue Journey" was to be a motion base ride film produced by IMAX for a Japanese client. Various aquatic vehicles were devised, but in the aftermath of the Kobe earthquake the whole project was cancelled. The gyrocycle and Mikado cruiser were for a Rhythm + Hues internal development project known as "Hybrid".
